Breaking Free from "Someday Clothes"

A Personal Stylist's Thoughts to Body Acceptance and Wardrobe Confidence-

aka You deserve to feel beautiful today. 😉

I was standing in my closet, holding a pair of expensive jeans that hadn't fit in years, I caught myself in that familiar inner dialogue…

"Just a few more months”, I promised myself.

“They were expensive. I'll get back into them."

But as a professional wardrobe consultant, and a master at closet organizing, I know better! I was really saying…

I wasn’t worth buying clothes that fit NOW.
I didn’t deserve to feel good TODAY.
My body’s changes were something to punish, not accept.

It was never about the jeans.🫤

After working with hundreds of women with closet organization and wardrobe styling, I see this pattern everywhere.

  • The guilt-keeping of expensive pieces that don’t fit or feel right

  • The stress-purging followed by panic-buying (usually the same styles on sale)

  • The daily self-talk that says “not yet” to feeling good in our clothes

We’re all doing it. But none of us are talking about it!

So when do we say “enough is enough”? My personal crisis was when I blew out of a pair of jeans-dang chunky inner thigh!- my only pair that I allowed myself to buy since I gained a lot of weight (let’s not talk about how ridiculous that sentence is🙄). As I stood in m closet, surrounded by clothing that didn’t fit, I realized this wasn’t motivating. I was wearing the same jeans 5x a week, a few tops that fit ok and there was no joy in getting dressed. No wonder I felt just “meh” all the time. I was dressing “meh”…it was a self fulfilling prophecy!

So it was time to do the work. And it’s been some work, but I know exactly what my clients are going through. Before, I was a fantastic organizer and efficient shopper and could find a deal like nobody else. But the crisis of self image and a closet full of clothes for a body I wasn’t happy with? I guess now I can check that off my bingo card!😉

So how can I help you when you’re in the midst of it? My in person sessions are pretty magical, but if you’re looking for

• Professional guidance without the professional price tag
• Prefer to process your clothing journey privately
• Are ready to dig deeper than just “organize everything”
• Need flexible timing to fit your schedule
• Want lasting change, not just a temporary fix
